North Lanarkshire Council’s is preparing for the launch of its new autumn and winter community arts programme later this month.

Classes in visual arts, photography and performing arts will soon begin, and will be open to residents across North Lanarkshire for the first time since closing their doors in March 2020.

Following a successful pilot programme earlier this year, the local authority’s Arts & You programme of events will kick off the week beginning August 30.

Tutors are eager to return with a diverse and exciting programme of classes.

Highlights include the introduction of new Lego Animation classes for 8-13 years olds; Little Stretch and Play for pre-schoolers at Airdrie Town Hall; an online Creative Writing class for adults and new venues for some of our adult drawing and painting classes.

Class blocks for term 1 are now available to book in advance online, providing participants with an easy signup option to guarantee their place in their chosen art form.

Ceramics classes at Pather Artworks in Wishaw returned earlier this month and are available as drop in weekly sessions.
